A Spanish visa for those who work remotely for a foreign company: a contract and income of ~€2,850/mo (200% SMI, 2026) are required. Via the consulate the visa is granted for 1 year; when applying from inside Spain via the UGE — residence up to 3 years with renewal. Time on the DNV counts 1:1 towards both later milestones: PR (Larga Duración) after 5 years of continuous residence, citizenship after 10 years (no reduction for RF citizens, standard term).

The classic study route: paid enrollment at an authorized institution, a national study visa via the consular channel/BLS (apply ≥2 months before start), and a TIE in Spain if the stay exceeds 6 months. Student status is a long-stay estancia, not ordinary residence. Higher-education authorization automatically allows compatible work, generally up to 30 h/week. ⚠️ PR is not an automatic outcome of study: national long-term residence needs 5 years of residence; study estancia counts at 50% toward EU long-term only if the applicant is already in residence status when applying. Citizenship for RF nationals is the general 10-year route with a formal renunciation declaration. A Russian school certificate needs homologación / UNEDasiss — there is no direct passport-only entry.
