From 01.03.2026 work requires a permit; residence years count toward the 6-year PR
Georgia admits Russians visa-free for a year, but from 01.03.2026 a work permit is mandatory for work — visa-free entry on its own does not grant the right to work. A local employer/offer is needed. The route to citizenship is long: PR after 6 years of residence on the permit, citizenship after 4 more years as PR (10 years total).

Enrollment + NCEQE recognition → D3 visa → study residence; study years excluded from the 10-year PR clock
Russian citizens enter visa-free for one full year, but study residence is separate: enrollment at an authorized institution, school-certificate recognition via NCEQE where required, a D3 immigration visa and a study residence permit at the Public Service Hall. ⚠️ Student status is not a work authorization — from 1 Mar 2026 a separate right-to-work is required. Study years are excluded from the 10-year PR route; naturalisation requires 10 years and usually renunciation of the previous citizenship.
